So, since we have tried so many other options for weight loss, we decided to stop “dieting” and change how we live. If you want to put a name to it, it would be the “white diet”. The white refers to white starch. Potatoes, semolina pasta, white rice, bleached or enriched flour, and white sugar… all of these are no no.
To go along with this we have moved to a meal replacement bar system for breakfast and lunch, and then a reasonable dinner. This is not only keeping us from taking in too much of those starches, but is also controlling our caloric intake and improving the quality of what we are eating.
We are using Special K Protein Bars. Yes, we know some of those things we are trying to avoid, including white sugar and enriched flower are in this, but it is a smaller amount than other similar products. The bars are well rounded for nutrients, filling, and cost effective.
So, how far have we come? Here are the stats

The food is the tip of the iceberg. Pigmy has to walk about a mile to get to the bus stop in the mornings, and again to get home so built In to her day is at least a 2 mile walk. Along with that she uses Wii Fit Plus daily for yoga and stretches. 2-3 times a week she will use Fit In Six on the Wii for more intense pilates type workouts. TSnow at this point is using some hand held barbells to tighten up his arms and work on some minor cardio. After all, what good is it to lose weight if you don’t tighten up what you have and make it look good?
What CAN we eat? Whatever we want really. As long as it fits teh restrictions of the potatoes, rice, flour, and sugar. We are watching our calories too, so if what you put is hits your calorie limit, you ar done so make it good!
Here’s an example day:
Breakfast: Special K bar, cup of coffee with 2 tablespoons of creamer.
Lunch: Special K bar, coffee or tea
Dinner: 6 oz pork chop quickly pan fried with some seasonings, a cup of green beans, a cup of brown rice, and 8 oz apple juice.
Substitute the meat or veggie for whatever you like. Fruit juice has a lot of calories so make sure you are watching that.
