My Music & Covers

Music fuels my spirit, drives my motivation, and defines me as who I am.  There is no such thing as bad music as far as I’m concerned, only those who prefer one type over another. I have played the piano since I was 13 years old (1991) and while I have tried my hand at other various instruments, including the Clarinet, Saxophone, Tuba, Trombone, Trumpet, xylophone, and guitar. I keep returning to my first love. Something about the way the keys feel under my fingers, or the sound of a freshly tuned baby grand. I’m not sure what it is, but the piano is by far my favorite instrument to play.  On this page you will find a collection of some of the piano covers I have done over the years with a brief writeup for each song.

RIP Scott Carlson My Friend

After a life long battle with diabetes and the related complications, our dear friend and brother, Scott Carlson slipped away "across the universe." We could easily fill a book with wonderful memories of Scott, but over the upcoming weeks and months the stories will...

This song will be played at my memorial service, we will all die, no one makes it out alive, you might as well enjoy the time you have to the best of your ability.  Love with all your heart, live with all your spirit, and make the most of what you got while you have...

Piano Cover – Radical Dreamers (Chrono Cross)

This cover was done based on a challange from my nephew.  I was asked by another to do a new balad, but they had no recomendations. So I put out a call on social media for one.  He responded with this song as the one I should attempt.  It was not an easy song to...

Piano Cover – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)

I am not a religious man, in fact I'd go so far as to say I'm pretty close to an atheist.  That being said though, there are some songs you can not deny the power of.  I don't know if this song is "religious" in nature or not, but it's such a powerful and emotional...

Piano Cover – In My Life (The Beatles)

On August 6th, 2017 I turn 39, and while I'm sure there are some who will read this who feel that is still quite a young age, I assure you that it is the oldest I have ever been.  I keep thinking back over the years of my life, the journey I've traveled, and the stops...

Piano Cover – The Dance (Garth Brooks)

While I was born in California, I was raised in East Tennessee, and thus have an appreciation for good country music.  I haven't listened to it quite some time however.  Recently though, I was feeling a bit southern and looked up some of my favorite artists from when...

Piano Cover – Something (The Beatles)

My senior year of highschool I had to write a custom arrangement and then play it in a final concert for the school body.  You could do an original piece, or you could write an interpretive cover of an existing song.  I chose to do the later, and the song I chose was...

Piano Cover – Sounds of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)

I am a sucker for a good harmony, and to be perfectly frank, you can't get much better harmonies then Simon & Garfunkel.  They at the de facto standard for harmonic melody.  The song Sounds of Silence has always been a go to "emotional band aid" for me.  I deal with...

Piano Cover – A Thousand Years (Christina Perri)

I know this song is from a most unfortunate soundtrack, but I refuse to let that tarnish it's beauty.  I find this song to be one of the most touching songs I've ever heard. I'm so in love with the melody and the pure beauty of the lyrics.  I had no choice but to...

Piano Cover – Africa (Toto)

Toto's Africa has always been one of those songs that I can hum just out of the blue for now apparent reason.  It's catchy, fun, and just a really great song.  I learned to play this song my Junior year in High School and I wanted to always do a version with someone...

Piano Cover – Hello (Lionel Richie)

A beautiful ballad has always been something that catches my attention, even when I was young, I used to really enjoy a song with a soft melody and quiet tones.  Even if I had no clue what love was.  I remember growing up with the likes of VH1 or MTV and seeing...

Want to Request A Cover?

I make no promises to actually do the cover since there is no guarentee I will have time. But if you have a song you would like me to try and make a cover of, I’ll consider it.  Just submit the info here and I’ll get on it as soon as I am able.
